We apply lean management in our factory, by using the following steps:
- Identify value: Determine which activities add value to the customer and which do not. Eliminate the non-value adding activities.
- Map the value stream: Create a flowchart that shows the steps involved in producing a product or providing a service.
- Create flow: Arrange processes and procedures to minimize waste and reduce cycle times.
- Establish pull: Implement a system where production is based on actual customer demand, rather than on forecasts or batch production.
- Pursue perfection: Continuously improve processes and eliminate waste, using tools like 5S, standard work (SOP), and kaizen events.
- Involve employees: Encourage/empower employees to identify and eliminate waste
- Implement visual management: Use visual aids like charts, graphs, boards asn computer displays to track progress and communicate results.
We fully understands implementing lean management requires a cultural shift and a long-term commitment, but should lead to increased efficiency, quality, and a higher customer satisfaction.
